Q: Does this tool automatically monitor backlinks?

No. It inspects the HTML you submit when you run it. The linked dashboard provides a manual backlink inventory. This page does not promise automated lost-link alerts or scheduled status rechecks.

Q: Can it find every backlink to my website?

No. You supply a source page and target URL. This is a placement inspection, not a backlink index or domain-wide discovery service.

Q: Why was my link not found?

The source may use a relative URL without a supplied base, a different query string or trailing slash, a redirect, or JavaScript-generated content. Confirm the live page manually before changing your record.

Q: What should I put in backlink notes?

Record your review date, publication context, expected anchor and any follow-up action. State whether the record is a planned placement or a link you personally verified.

Q: Does a nofollow link mean a bad backlink?

No. Link attributes describe a relationship. Consider the source page, audience, placement and referral usefulness rather than treating one attribute as a complete quality score.

Monitor Backlinks: what your check tells you

To monitor backlinks responsibly, keep a record of where a link was placed, where it points, and what you last inspected. A list of planned placements is useful, but it is not evidence that those links are published or still live.

This inspector searches the HTML you supply for an exact target URL, ignoring fragments. It does not fetch the source website, discover every backlink to a domain, check HTTP responses or run scheduled rechecks. A page modified since you copied its HTML may now contain different links.

Source and target

The source is the page carrying the link. The target is the destination on your site. Add a source URL so relative href values can be resolved correctly.

Anchor evidence

Review the visible anchor text or image alt text supplied in the HTML. An empty or generic anchor may deserve an editorial review.

Link attributes

Inspect rel values such as nofollow, sponsored and ugc as evidence. An absent rel attribute does not guarantee that a link will pass value or affect rankings.

Verify before updating

If no match appears, check the destination spelling, page changes and browser-rendered HTML. A no-match result is not proof that a backlink was lost.
